Story time…
A couple weeks ago, we got news from the city that we could start cleaning up and beautifying another park in Jaco. We went on a Wednesday morning to scope out the park, see what needed to be done, make a list of supplies we would need, and pray over the space. As soon as we walked up to the park, we could tell it was pretty desolate and dark. The atmosphere was heavy, there was trash everywhere, all the plants were over grown. We started praying over the park, over the city, and over ourselves as we were to begin work over the next few days.
After we prayed and had an idea of what needed to be done, we went to noon prayer at the church, ate lunch, and began catering supplies.
We started picking up trash and raking leaves. After about an hour or so, a few kids saw us working and decided to come play. We quickly joined in and took the opportunity to love on them. After a couple hours, it was time to clean up and head home.
The next morning, we gathered our tools and headed straight to the park. As we were walking up, the kids saw us coming and immediately joined in. We cleaned, played, and before we knew it were were over 15 local kids at the park with us.
The next day was similar, but by the end of the day we had over 30 locals at the park with us! We had kids playing, music on, balloon animals, swinging on the play-set. It was beautiful, lively. How cool that God brought the park to life in just a matter of a few days!
This is so awesome!
