Things the World Race has taught me so far and there’s still 176 days till I leave.
- love harder
- give more
- enjoy every moment. don’t rush through life
- rejoice in the battle
- Jesus heals
- there is no limit to our God. stop trying to put restrictions on what He can do
the list goes on.
But for this post I’m specifically talking on the second point, ‘give more.’ Through the process of fundraising, I have learned how far generosity can go. I’ve noticed a pattern. As people are generous toward me, all I want to do is be generous toward others. Which, especially financially, causes me to have more faith in
God, which then leads to more generosity from His people. The act of giving is so much more than a dollar sign, its a way to show love, and loving people is a command. In fact, the Bible tells us over sixty times to love one another.
John 15:12 ’This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.’
1 John 3:18 ‘My children, our love should not be just words and talk; it must be true love, which shows itself in action.’
Leviticus 19:18 ‘Do not take revenge on others or continue to hate them, but love your neighbors as you love yourself.’
1 Corinthians 16:14 ‘Let all that you do be done in love.’
1 Corinthians 13:13 ‘And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.’
Ultimately, loving people is the only way to show who Jesus really is. Religion is not appealing. But a love so deep, so wide that heals, saves, and gives. That’s appealing. That’s Jesus. Wouldn’t that cause you to crave a real, raw relationship with Him?
So, even though this phrase doesn’t do it justice, thank you. Every single donation made & t-shirt bought has meant the absolute world to me. And it really does add up. Even $1 or $2 donations have made such a big difference, they add up financially, grow my faith, and extend His kingdom. Again, I can’t say it enough but, thank you.
