World Race Training Camp: A Series

Part Three: All Night Long

So the whole ‘posting every other day for the duration of this series’ thing is quite a bit harder than I anticipated haha BUT here it is, post number three!

Ok, let me start by saying this was one of my favorite things we did all of training camp.

We were told we had to stay up all night and pray/worship on our back patio.

It didn’t matter who stayed out, but we had to have at least three people at all times from the hours of 11pm-6am. Honestly, my first thought was to opt out and let other people do it because I was exhausted. But praise God, another squad member, Andrew, spoke up and said we should do it as a group. So we made a schedule of 30min increments and each person on then squad had to sign up for at least one. I chose 4:30am, others chose earlier, some chose later.

Because I was tired and needed to be at the patio so early, I went to bed around 10pm. I fell asleep knowing that my squad would be up praying/worship all. night. long. And let me just say, I slept SO good (I later heard other squad mates saying the same thing).

By 4am, my alarm was going off & I was getting ready to head over to the patio for my time slot. As I was walking over there (it’s a decently long walk), I could feel the Holy Spirit moving. I could feel God’s presence in the atmosphere. It was so sweet and such a tender moment. When I got closer, I could see squad mates praying for each other, some sharing visions, and some simply worshipping our King.

I stayed out from 4:30-6am, then went on about my day (temperature checks, work out, quiet time, breakfast, and so on). It was a long day afterwards, but absolutely worth it.

I can’t even find the words to describe that night. The best way I can describe it is that heaven touched earth. Right there on our little back patio. Where two or more were gathered in His name.

I am so thankful we serve a God that will always meet us right where we’re at. And I’m so thankful for an amazing squad that continuously seeks Him first.

**ALSO! Shout out to Mitchell and Jonathan for staying out (and awake) the ENTIRE night and making it through the whole next day without a nap lol! Ya’ll are incredible and your dedication is so encouraging.**

And another shout out to Jonathan for taking pics!

  1. Amazing story! I completely agree, that was a night I will never forget. The joy and encouragement I walked away with that night/day is still indescribable. I’ve wanted to do it again ever since camp ended!!

  2. I love your perspective of, and how you were impacted, by the night prayer!
This night also brought the squad together into an amazing place of unity!
