I’ve been living as a missionary in Jaco, Costa Rica for two and a half weeks now.

We’ve been building things around the property, cleaning out sheds, working with Horizon Church, and painting a huge mural in the city park. Along with that, we’ve had daily devotional time as a group as well as team time each evening. We’ve been pretty busy to say the least.

Our host, Hannah, has been beyond amazing. She cares for us so well and goes above and beyond in every aspect.

My squad (well the five teams in Jaco with me) are incredible. They hunger for more of the Lord and it’s so evident in everything they do. It’s precious to see them interact with locals, scrub walls when they don’t feel like it, lead worship in a language they barely know, and simply interact with each other while we’re at the base. Yes, there’s been some rough moments here and there, but it’s dulled in comparison to the full picture and beauty of our squad.

My team, Surrendered Seven, is the BEST. We go from laughing uncontrollably to serious deep convos in the matter of seconds. I so appreciate the dynamics of our group. We have wildly different personalities on our team, yet they all mesh so well together. I am in awe of how perfectly the Lord put us together. They love me well and I pray I do the same for them.

All this to say, I love life right now. I miss my AMDA family so much it hurts. I’ve had some not-so-great days here. I’ve had some overwhelming moments (living in a house with 50 people in there 20s is not for the weak lol). But the good SO outweighs the rough parts. It’s part of the beauty. I adore the people I’m with. I adore the ministry we are working with. I adore God and the joy that He is continuously pouring out on me. I never ever imagined my life looking like this, yet here I am, loving every minute of it.
